Turn serious sustainability topics into the most engaging picture-book adventures created by children.
This is a cross-disciplinary teaching tool designed for elementary teachers and students. Based on student-created characters and settings, it seamlessly integrates the United Nations’ SDGs into storylines. More than just a storytelling tool, it acts like a “picture book director,” generating narratives alongside illustration suggestions—guiding students on how to visually express emotions and thematic tension. It is ideal for classroom picture book projects and creative competitions.

Applicable Scenarios
- Teaching SDGs-themed lessons Instead of simply showing videos about topics like SDG 14 (Life Below Water), students can create a sea turtle character trying to find a clean ocean. The assistant helps generate an adventure story that builds empathy through narrative.
- Guiding students in picture book competitions Students may have strong drawing skills but struggle with story structure or integrating themes naturally. This tool helps organize the story into a clear narrative arc while ensuring alignment with SDGs themes, increasing the chances of success.
- Promoting reading and writing literacy Through an interactive “you describe, AI writes” approach, even students who dislike writing can participate. By simply providing a character and basic idea, students can co-create stories with AI, lowering the barrier to writing and increasing motivation.
User Guide
Step 1: Define the character and their goal Students imagine and describe the main character.
- Example input: “The main character is ‘Glow,’ a lightbulb person who shines. He is kind but a bit timid. His goal is to bring light to a dark slum (aligned with SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy).”
Step 2: Define the setting and challenges Where does the story take place? What obstacles exist?
- Example input: “The story takes place in a remote mountain village without electricity. The challenge is that it rains frequently, so solar panels don’t work well, and villagers struggle to see.”
Step 3: Receive the story and picture book script The assistant generates a complete short story, including:
- Story content: Describes how Glow overcomes fear, discovers alternative energy solutions (such as wind or water power), and collaborates with villagers.
- Illustration suggestions: Highlights key scenes, for example: “(Illustration idea: Show Glow standing in the rain, his light dim but his expression determined, with cool tones in the background to emphasize the cold environment.)”
Features
- Seamless integration of SDGs themes Instead of direct instruction, the tool embeds SDGs into character actions and personal growth. For example, solving a water shortage becomes part of the story, helping readers naturally understand sustainability concepts.
- Visual storytelling for picture books This is a standout feature. The output is not just text, but a visually guided script. It suggests the use of color (e.g., transitioning from dark to bright tones) to symbolize hope, supporting students in creating meaningful illustrations.
- Emphasis on emotion and growth At the heart of every story is emotional resonance. The assistant focuses on the character’s inner struggles and transformation, ensuring that readers not only learn about sustainability but also feel connected to the story.
